This lovely persimmon teapot is made by Yixing's experienced artisan, Lin Gao, who has practiced the Yixing craft for over 30 years. The cover button features two lifelike persimmons in a branch. One side of the teapot and cover features hand-carved Chinese calligraphy 观世自在, which means that those who observe freedom can look at the world and feel at ease, freeing themselves from suffering and happiness.
Why brew tea with Yixing clay teapots?
The reason why the Yixing purple clay teapot has the function of "improvement and fragrance retention" is mainly determined by the characteristics of the purple clay clay. The purple clay teapot is a porous material with a double-pore structure. The pores are very dense and have strong adsorption forces. It can absorb the aroma of tea and keep it for a long time. However, glazed ceramic teapots lack this function. Therefore, it's very fit for brewing aged tea.
