This teapot shape is called Shi Piao. The Shipiao teapot is a classic style of purple clay teaware. The teapot body is trapezoidal with soft, smooth curves and a simple shape.
This Yixing teapot is made from a rare Yixingclay known as "Dahongpao" for its deep red color. Dahongpao, like other zhuni clay, is prized for its ability to bring out the best flavors. It is also a very difficult clay to fire as it is more likely to break during the process.
Each Yixing teapot undergoes dozens of tedious manual processes to ensure the highest quality.
Why brew tea with Yixing clay teapots?
The reason why the Yixing purple clay teapot has the function of "improvement and fragrance retention" is mainly determined by the characteristics of the purple clay clay. The purple clay teapot is a porous material with a double-pore structure. The pores are very dense and have strong adsorption forces. It can absorb the aroma of tea and keep it for a long time.
